Aristophanes is known to have written over forty plays, which the first one was written in 427 B.C.E and the last one around 386 B.C.E (308). Aristophanes is also popularly known as the Father of Comedy and the Prince of Ancient Comedy. It was believed that Aristophanes recreated the life of ancient Athens more convincingly than any other author. Even the influential contemporaries like Plato acknowledged his powers of ridicule.
